Melanie Henstrom CLE, CIMI, CPD (CAPPA), PCD (DONA)
I received my bachelor’s degree in Family Life from Brigham Young University and worked in adoption until I had my first child. When my oldest was 6 and I had a 4 and 2 year old I found out I was pregnant with twins. That changed my world for many years. I had one more child after the twins making it an even 6. In 2009 my youngest started school and I realized that I needed to fill my free time with something I loved. It was then that I decided to become a Certified Postpartum Doula. I later expanded my training as a Certified Lactation Educator and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. I also love volunteering as a La Leche League Leader. I have finished my education and clinical hours and will sit for the IBCLC (Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant) exam in 2017.
My passion is to educate, nurture, and support women through their postpartum time helping to make it more joyous. I am certain that my struggles I experienced as a new mom have helped me to be more compassionate for others during their postpartum time. I love sharing what I wish I had known as a new mom.
