Jill is a trained birth doula and postpartum doula, and owner of Jill The Doula. When not attending births, she likes to go for hikes with her family and work on her travel blog. She lives in Meridian, Idaho with her husband and four kids.
I have been a trained birth doula since 2013, supporting women and families in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and parenthood are my passions and I absolutely love being able to be a part of the entire process with families.
I enjoy seeing the look on parents’ faces when they meet their new little one(s) for the first time, and I love helping them feel empowered during their births.
I have attended over 50 births while living in the St. Paul, Minnesota metro area before I traveled around the USA, and then the world, with my family for a few years. In early 2020 we moved to Meridian, Idaho where I am thrilled to be supporting mothers as a doula once again.
I serve all types of families. Those who are seeking an unmediated birth to those planning on using an epidural. I support women having home births, birth center births, or hospital births.
I view birth as a normal and healthy process as you bring baby into this world. I come alongside you to bring comfort and peace of mind as you go into labor and throughout the process by offering emotional and physical support, providing evidence-based information, and suggesting techniques to reduce fear and build confidence. As your postpartum doula, my goal is to help you feel supported and empowered to take care of your newborn baby (babies) and yourself in the early weeks after birth, right in your own home. I am passionate about providing unbiased support for breastfeeding, caring for your newborn baby, helping you get some sleep, and even helping older siblings transition better into their new role.
I believe that families are empowered by education and support. And that doesn’t stop at birth.
My goal as your postpartum doula is to help families fully recover from pregnancy and childbirth, learn how to trust their parental instincts, and move forward with confidence and joy. Learn more about my postpartum doula services here.
