Rebekah Omas
Rebekah Omas is a DONA International trained birth and postpartum doula. She attends home, hospital, and birth center births to support women through labor and birth. She will educate and nurture your changing family through your postpartum journey. Rebekah will bring her knowledge and experience to help you achieve your goals for labor, delivery, and beyond. Rebekah is a mother of three, (a singleton and twins), and a teacher in Boise. She is passionate about supporting families with multiples.
My passion for helping other moms during pregnancy and childbirth was sparked during my own journey into motherhood, 20 years ago! I was lacking in knowledge and support to advocate for myself and my baby when it came to the birth of my daughter. I believe that pregnancy and childbirth is a transformational experience, and one that we will carry with us forever. When a mom is educated and supported successfully, she becomes empowered during her birth. Whether that experience is an un-medicated water birth, a birth with an epidural, or anything in between- research shows us that the most important thing a mom needs to be happy with her birth outcome is the right support. I am here to support you and care for you through labor, birth, and the 4th trimester and can’t wait to get to know you, too!

After finding out we were expecting surprise triplets, I was immediately overwhelmed by the many risks of pregnancy and those that came with the first several months of our babies' lives. One especially overwhelming concern, was the thought of providing vigilant care for three premature newborns throughout the early weeks of sleepless nights. Our meeting Rebekah and hiring her as our postpartum doula was truly an answer to prayer! Not only was Rebekah a true professional in providing exceptional care and attentiveness to our baby trio but she also brought personal experience as a mom of multiples herself. Almost immediately my anxiety disappeared as Rebekah's presence provided us with the gift of peace of mind and a full night of quality sleep. Rebekah maintained a consistent feeding schedule and ensured our babies were clean, comfortable and safe through out the night. Each morning I would awake to babies still snoozing peacefully with clean diapers, full tummies, and their bottles sterilized. There were nights where our babies were sick, fussy or teething - all of which Rebekah embraced and provided them with comfort. Rebekah also helped transition the babies from middle of the night feedings to sleeping soundly throughout the entire night! Rebekah was also a tremendous resource as a mom of twins. I learned much from her about the special experience of raising multiples as they grow from babies to teens. I feel fortunate that I can go to her for guidance as mine grow up together. It is very evident that Rebekah's passion is in caring for babies and new moms. And with a particular soft spot for multiples, I truly could not imagine anyone better for the job. |
