Treasure Valley Doulas is a membership organization of birth and postpartum doulas from diverse backgrounds. Each doula operates her own business and has their own unique style. Members may come from different training/certifying organizations. We are dedicated to supporting women and their families physically, emotionally, and by empowering them to make informed choices for their birth and throughout the postpartum period. We are actively educating the public about doulas and their role during, pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
We host events such as Meet the Doulas for pregnant people to find their perfect doula match.
When you hire a doula from our membership you will be doing so through their business and not Treasure Valley Doulas.
We strengthen all doulas by providing opportunities for doulas to gain support, grow in their knowledge, process experiences, network, and communicate with each other. We do this by sponsoring doula get togethers, providing continuing education, promoting community awareness of doulas, and by providing marketing opportunities for doulas.
We are committed to the development of the doula profession and to supporting its members.

“The doula’s support allows the mother’s most powerful creativity to emerge in the safest way. This experience often overflows into other respects of a woman’s life, enhancing the transformation that childbirth brings about.”

COVID-19 UPDATE: The doulas in our community continue to serve their clients to the best of their ability in consideration of the safety of all involved and in accordance with current hospital and birth center policies.
We want all laboring families to be informed and have the best support for their birth. This can be accomplished by combining prenatal education, at home and virtual or in person hospital support depending upon the comfort of all individuals involved and the current policies in place.
Doula support may look different in these times but We Are Here For You!!
Current local hospital policies for doulas:
St Lukes (all locations) Two support people PLUS doula.
St Alphonsas (all locations) Two support people PLUS doula.
West Valley Medical Center (Caldwell) One support person PLUS doula.
(This information is subject to change at any time.)
Also note that doulas are able to serve their clients at all the local birth centers and with home birth midwives.
