Postpartum doulas are in the business of making themselves unneeded. A family should feel confident in caring for their baby, in their breastfeeding relationship, and adjusting to having a baby overall after having a postpartum doula attend them. By modeling a deep respect for the wisdom and decision making abilities of the new parents, postpartum doulas make clear that supporting them in their own choices will have the best possible results, validating the parents’ intuitive ability to nurture.
Since Treasure Valley Doulas is a membership organization, each doulas has her own business. We encourage viewing many profiles and then setting up interviews with a few different doulas to see who might be the best fit for you. We also host a quarterly Meet the Doulas events which is a perfect time to interview several doulas at once. |
