Alicia Bilbao CD(DONA)

Alicia the owner of Mountain Baby Birth Services certified through DONA International, she is currently serving as the Vice President on the Treasure Valley Doulas board of directors. Alicia is passionate about educating women on making informed birth decisions, and believes every mother deserves love, support, and kindness throughout her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Alicia is fluent in English and Spanish languages and hopes to serve all families regardless of race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, or marital status.

I am a fire-wife and a mom to one sassy toddler. I first found my passion for birth-work when my sister invited me to attend her homebirth back in 2017. I knew from the moment we filled up the birth pool that this is what I was going to be when I grew up! She invited me into her birth space a second time in 2019 and the birth of my second nephew sealed the deal. I completed my DONA International Birth Doula training in 2021, and shortly after became pregnant myself. I am so thankful for experiencing the ups and downs of birth firsthand, and I believe my birth story makes me a better doula.
I have always had a passion for pregnancy and birth, which has been expanded by educating women on making informed birth decisions. The time of pregnancy and postpartum is sacred and I am incredibly honored to be included in those moments with you and your family.  I am thrilled to be a part of the expansive birth community in the Treasure Valley, and I'm honored for the consideration of becoming your doula! My goal as your birth doula is to help you feel loved, supported, confident, empowered, and prepared to achieve your ideal labor and delivery. Together, we can me your birth experience as positive as possible.

• Support via phone, text, or email from time of hire
• On call from 37 weeks
• Two prenatal meetings (1-2 hours each)
• Discuss your ideal birth experience
• Discuss and process any fears or anxieties regarding birth for you and your partner
• Learn and practice comfort techniques
• Run through of the stages and phases of labor
• Access to local resources list
• Continuous labor and delivery support
• Advocating for your birth preferences
• Encouragement and support for birth partners
• Two postpartum visits (1-2 hours each) (2-14 days after birth)
• Baby feeding questions or concerns
• Help debrief after the birth
• Assist with anything you feel will help you settle in and feel supported in the postpartum period
