Brianna Hollowell
Brianna is a DONA international trained doula working towards her certification. Brianna attends home, hospital, and birth center births. Brianna is a registered nurse and a birth assistant for a midwifery practice as well. As a registered nurse, she has experience and skill for advocation, navigating conversations with healthcare staff, and a greater understanding of medical interventions, medications, and comfortability in the hospital setting. As a birth assistant (separate work from nursing), she assists midwives at a birth center and home births. She assists the attending midwife with labor, birth, postpartum care, and newborn care. Her experience as a birth assistant has taught her how to support unmedicated births and out of hospital births.
Brianna believes her work history and doula training has shaped her into a well-rounded, knowledgeable doula. She is prepared to support any type of birth her client desires, whether it be medicated or unmedicated, at the Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy! Here’s a little introduction to who I am and how I came to be a doula! I was raised Emmett, Idaho, I have an amazing husband named Devin, and a rambunctious toddler named Griffin. In nursing school, I had a course that introduced me to pregnancy, labor, and birth. It quickly became my favorite subject and led me to listening to HUNDREDS of birth stories on my podcast app. I continued to learn about pregnancy and birth and shortly after my newfound obsession, I became pregnant! Go figure! After I graduated nursing school and had my son, I became a birth assistant for a local midwifery practice. So, although I am new to the doula community, I have been supporting births for over a year! I felt a strong calling and fascination to birth work, so I became a doula. As a doula, I want women to know their options for birth and feel supported. I want women to feel empowered by their birth. I want to be the person that helps facilitate it. I’ve always had the desire to help women and being a doula perfectly aligns with that. Caring for women and their family in such a sacred, transformational time in their life is an honor. It’s exactly what I want to do, it’s what I’m great at, it’s my passion. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to join you on your journey! |
