Skyler is a DONA trained birth doula here in the Treasure Valley & is actively pursuing certification! Skyler was born & raised in the state of California where she worked with mental health & substance abuse clients as she continued her education in Psychology, in hopes of becoming a therapist one day. Life took her a different route, and found herself to be a proud resident of Idaho, and a wonderful addition to the doula community! Skyler has a true desire for serving others, especially expecting parents. She is kind hearted, passionate & ready to support you in any way she can!
Hey there, I am so glad you’re here! My name is Skyler, I am a DONA trained Birth Doula & the proud owner of Simply Serenity Birth! Serving others is the true desire of my heart. When I was introduced to the role of a birth doula, in just a few short months, I became a doula myself! Supporting expecting families quickly became my passion. I love all things pregnancy, birth & beyond. I believe childbirth is a miracle & the most precious moments in life! It is an honor to be a part of such an Intimate space & time. Training:
DONA International Birth Doula w\Workshop July 2018 Birth Fee: $800 FREE Consultation: At this time, you will be able to ask all of your questions & get to know me! The goal of this initial consultation is for you to make sure I am a good fit for you & your partner! So yes, ask all of your important questions & be selective, that’s okay! It is important to have a connection & feel safe with your doula. This consultation can be done in person at a local coffee shop or even via video call, entirely up to you! Prenatal Visits: During this visit we will start to build our connection! Ideally, both mamma & partner will be present for this visit, and we will go over laboring positions, ways you can use your home for laboring, ways your partner & I can best support you, the basic stages of labor & birth, go over all your options, alternatives, risks & benefits, we then will go over all of your birth desires, fears & concerns & create your ideal birth plan. Essentially we gear you up with everything you will need to achieve a satisfying birth experience (and so much more!) Birth Attendance: I will be on call at your 37 week mark, readily available for your birth! At your birth I will create a very safe, calming environment for you & your partner to bring your bundle of joy into this world, confidently & comfortably! I will provide hands-on support, physically, emotionally and maybe even spiritually. I will come equipped with many resources & tools for laboring and delivery. My goal is to orchestrate the best support system with all persons attending your birth, in order for you to achieve a birth that is peaceful & empowering! (and so much more!) Postpartum Visits: During this visit we will debrief! We will talk through your birth experience, everything you loved and maybe things you did not. If you are needing breastfeeding support, a nap, a shower, or even a shoulder to cry on, I will be there for all your needs at this time! I also will provide postpartum resources and referrals for you in case of need. (and so much more!) ADDED SERVICES Child Care Visits: This service allows for a break, simply a break! I will provide extensive support to you & your partner (prenatally or postpartum) by spending time with your child/children as your doula. I will come to your home equipped with fun activities and a creative mind to keep your child/children entertained and maybe even fed, while you either spend special bonding time with your newly born child or even alone time for you and your partner as a couple (etc). This service can be added to any package at an hourly rate of $45 and is included in the ULTIMATE package.
